Indie Rock owns me and about everything else. Unlike most musical people, I play a sport and love sports. Im an indie kid but I am a music lover in general. Rap, punk, metal, hardcore, post-hardcore, indie pop, chamber pop, twee pop, and even emo, i like it all. Movies is the secont love which tons of my hard earned cash goes. One day I will have a room for my movie collection. Enough said. Enjoy my life as much as I wish I had yours if its better.

School Has Begun and My Life Has Ended.

Well, it has begun. I have a cake walk schedule except for a class with Ms. Drama. Other then that late arrival is pretty sweet. I have yet to see our school news but i cant wait for it to come for the first time. My movie collection has seen some recent adds which include Sin City, Boondock Saints, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and the best blind purchase I have ever made in PoolHall Junkies. Think rounders but with think pool. Movie theatre time has been pretty short but here they are for Hustle and Flow and The Brothers Grimm

Hustle and Flow was a movie about rap. Not much to say but it gave a great explanation of southern rap which I despise. The thing with Luda (christopher bridges) was so unexspected. Terrance Howard was exceptional again and the cast was rounded out by a goofy white guy with a big nose (TheNewGuy).

The Brothers Grimm was a visually stunning which is what Gilliam is known for. The play on tales is very cool and my boy Damon is really good in it. Not much to say but see this movie if your even thinking about going. If this kinda of movie doesnt interest you then dont go to it.

Other then that im really poor right now. I had to purchase concert tickets for My Chemical and then the FallOutBoy concert. Cant wait for another football game cause the AK game was really boring. Cuz I Dont Even Cur.

Gorphanage 05

A lazy friday that starts like every lazy summer friday morning, waking up late and deciding what to do. This one was special though. The night before vince, zack, george, and I decided that we were going to go to the orphanage on that very day. We decided to even make a picnic out of it. At 330 we begun the trip. We forgot directions and cause of lack of a printer had them written on a paper plate. We got to the road and initially made a right, we even saw our final resting place but we believed it to be left. We then went speeding off the other direction. We started the real dead mans curve at a rapid rate and at the bottem of the windiest turn in history we almost died. It felt to me we were losing control but at the bottem of the hill we almost hit a truck that was taking this great turn at a very slow rate because he knew of the danger. We went on. We ran out of road and looked both ways and still found no road. We turned right and found the road again and continued on. We then came to another end of road point. We looked both ways and then turned right again to find our road again. Now here we go, at one point there was a truck or something blocking off our side of the road. George pressed on into incoming traffic into the other lane. NO HESITATION on either drivers part. Myself, Vince, and John were in the backseat freaking out while george laughs. When we got to the truck and started to get over i swear we were no more then a yard away from certain death for me. I was in the middle with no belt and would have flown right through the Hybrid Civics windshield. After that near death exp. we pressed on again. We had already been driving for an hour, hour and half. We then found the most amazing thing ever, a bluegrass festival. We drove in and found that we were like blacks at a KKK event, so out of place. We asked where we were and found that it was a town called Nova. We left as fast as possible and headed the other way back to the starting point. We called alot of people trying to find the location but to noone would tell us. We even asked a biker but she took up a snotty attitude when we asked if she knew the location. We think she was protecting the secret. Jared came out acting like he know the location and after sitting in the smallest downtown in the country in firelands he showed up. We began following him and found that he knew less then us. We finnally thought we had found it at our original location and begun our picnic. We walked down a hill and found the bridge of death that in no way was i crossing with flip flops on. We pressed on and found a trail that brought us to a very cool area along the river. After spending some time down on the river we headed back and decided to end the day with no finding of the grail we were looking for. This day had everything. Pacts, near death happenings, great fun, and the thrill of thinking we found something we really didnt. Until next time we make a day out of you, so long to the Route 66 of Ohio.

Virginia Beach and A Story

Virginia Beach is such a different place then anywhere in the world. Only in Virginia Beach would the neighbor of my moms give a brand new BMW to 17 year old when her start up car was a 3 year old Land Rover. Its incredible down here. So many tourist that have no idea whats going on in this town. I was born here and I will always call this place a home no matter where I live. This post is going to be pretty deep explaining a few things about my life so i dont exspect many to read and comment. I would hope for no funny comments cause this not being funny at all but ill take them as they come.

I was born May 1, 1988 which is a national holiday in many communist countrys. It is a holiday for the working man. If i was going to become a communist ruler I have a great Birthday for it. My parents divorsed when i was quite young and I dont ever remember them togethor. What I do rememember of their marriage is them being in seperate rooms and not talking very much. I went to school in Virginia Beach and had the time of my life until my dad moved to Ohio. He started up two businesses that both failed but he moved on. In 4th grade I, my little brother (jack), my mom, and stepdad(david) moved to Elizabeth City, NC. Its a shitty town and almost 50% of my school was black, a far cry from Amherst. I lived in a very big, old house for one year and then we moved back to Virginia Beach for one year. We had an awsome beach house that was one minute walk from the beach. That year spent in that house was incredible. The street had an incredible neighborhood atmosphere with almsot every family having kids. You could always find something to do and many nights were highlighted by games of Hide and Go seek, think of your best game that you ever played and think I played that at least once a week. Whats funny is after that year we moved back into that big house in NC and i lived in it for another year and half which were some great times. So many friends and things to do. In that year I fell in love with the game of basketball and have never stopped since. We played so much and had so much fun. Then my mom told me we were moving again. This time I had enough of it and decided to move with my dad who at the time lived in Georgia. Georgia is everything you hear about. Everyones really friendly, drink sweat tea, and are down home country boys. Kids are very respectful to adults then are staight mean to anyone who isnt a country boy like them. I was once almost kicked the shit out of by 5 kids for having more then 50$ in my wallet. I know I run my mouth alot but this time I didnt say anything. The kid just asked me how much I had in my wallet because he was trying to show off the fact that he had like 30$. Whatever though. I didnt stay long and made the trip to amherst, ohio where i know live.

Im guessing no one cares but i really didnt have anything to write about and thought this was a good idea while being here. Thanks and have a good life, hopefully I will be part of your good times.

Music and Movie Time

So I havent done much lately but I am going on vacation this week to Virginia Beach. I cant wait to get some free time for doing nothing all day. So i thought I would make a post about movies and music. First talks will be about movies then music will follow.

Movies
The summer hasnt been blockbust crazy like past summers. The movies that were supposed to be good and were supposed to be blockbusters have all been that. I would say a movie like Stealth which tanked best expresses this summer. Movies like Cinderella Man which was one of the best movies I have ever seen did absolutely nothing in the box offices. Now to the opposit end of the spectrum a movie like Batman which was marketed incredibly well and was also an extremely well made and acted movie had a very nice showing in the box office. Favorite movie of the summer releases is bar none Charlie and The Chocalate Factory. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp at their best. Star Wars was descent but im not a big stars fan so im not the person to judge it. I guess ill tell you my top 5 movies of all time now because my movie discussion is done.
1.Tombstone
2.Usual Suspects
3.Garden State
4.Shawshank Redemption
5.Resavoir Dogs
The only movie on this list that I can understand anybody knocking on is Tombstone. But, that has been a personal favorite of mine since I was about 8. Everything about that movie is great. Garden State is not knockable at all if you have seen it and have really watched it. And the other three movies are all favorites of most people in the world.

Music
I dont really know how to do this but im just going to tell you whats on my playlist right now at the current moment. I have finnally made my Iriver (mp3 player) incredibly easy to navigate with almost everything named and tagged correctly. At the current moment im listening to alot of indie. Indie does not have to be independent to be it but its a state of mind to the user. So here you go, these are the records that have been on my playlist for a while now.
1.The Decemberists-Picaresque-Extemely awsome sound. All the songs seem very old and almost folk like. I would recomend them to anyone who likes Bright Eyes.
2.Franz Ferdinand-Franz Ferdinand-Great sound that is extremely catchy. Recomend the cd to anyone who doesnt care for indie but likes good music.
3.The Futureheads-The Futureheads-Great sound and anyone who likes bloc party or franz i would recomend them.
4.The Dead 60`s-The Dead 60`s-By now you can tell that franz hooked me onto this kinda sound. Very similar to Franz but the lyrics are not as catchy.
5.Bloc Party-Silent Alarm-The last of these kinda Franz sounding indie bands. Im sorry but these guys are incredible and I dont understand why they didnt take off like Hot Hot Heat did after their MTV moment.
6.The Postal Service-Give Up-Very pleasing to the ears. If you dont like them and have heard them you desserve never to hear music ever again.
7.Motion City Soundtrack-I Am The Movie-Very catchy punk music that if you like Fall Out Boy i would recomend them to you.
8.Fall Out Boy-From Under The Cork Tree-I know they have made it to TRL but the rest of the record is still great.
9.Spoon-Gimme Fiction-Record of the year to me. If you like rock or classic rock you will be pleased with this.
10.Stereophonics-Language, Sex, Voilence, and Other?-Great band. Straight 3 peice rock. They are big over the pond so why arent they here yet.
Honerable Mentions-Alkaline Trio has fallen off the playlist but is going to make a return with them coming to the town so i gotta remember all the words again. Hot Hot Heat is still one of my favorite bands. Seeing them in concert a secont time with my favorite girl band (shivers) eisley made them even better to me. Eisley needs more attention but they wont get it because of the hate of girl bands by most people. Im one of the haters but i love them for some reason. The classic bands albums were all great. The highlight to me is The White Stripes, Weezer, and Coldplay. Foo and Oasis werent the best works both bands have put out but are very good. Hawthorne Heights desserves alot of mention for me actully liking a band that screams other then the Thursday. If you like techno i would recomend Daft Punk to you in a heartbeat because of awsomeness.

Thats all I got for the movies and music of my summer of 05. Thanks for reading and go watch and listen to something.
